The KEFAG Kiskunsági Forestry and Woodworking Company and the KASZÓ Forestry Stock Company established cooperation under the OAKEYLIFE project on 1st August 2017. After the representatives of KEFAG Zrt. visited KASZÓ Zrt. in 2017, and in 2018 we had the opportunity to take part in a workshop in the Peszér-forest.

The two public forestry companies could agree and work together in various subjects within the framework of the LIFE programme, since both of them undertook similar tasks in their winning projects like the conservation and restoration of natural habitat.

One of the main objectives of OAKEYLIFE project is to eliminate those local factors that jeopardise the achievement of NATURA 2000 management plans, such as inhibition of invasive alien species (tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima), common hackberry (Celtis occidentalis), black cherry (Prunus serotina), Manitoba maple (Acer negundo)) and certain herbaceous plants like common milkweed (Asclepisa syriaca), canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) and tall goldenrod (Solidago gigantea)) in the Peszér-forest.

Another important objective is to expand the dimension of high priority natural habitat types in the Great Hungarian Plain through carrying out rehabilitation works as well as to insure and improve their state of conservation.

By highlighting the above mentioned objectives the project manager presented the achieved progress of OAKEYLIFE project to the tender office manager from KASZÓ AG. at multiple sites.

The meeting of professionals made it possible for both sides to exchange information and demonstrate their achievements.
